PowerBall Help & FAQ

Overview

America’s PowerBall is responsible for creating the biggest lottery jackpot of all time, a mind-blowing $1.6 billion on January 13th 2016. The draw takes place at approximately 04:00 UK time every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Betting with us, you win the amount that you would have won if the official prize fund was shared between you and any official lottery winners.

How does betting on the PowerBall at Lottoland work?

Instead of entering the official PowerBall lottery draw, you place a bet on the outcome and the results of it can be found here. You pick the numbers you think will be drawn in the same way as if you had entered the official lottery draw. Betting with us, you win the amount that you would have won if the official prize fund was shared between you and any official lottery winners.

How do I choose a line and place a bet?

Choose 5 numbers from the main pool of 1–69 and 1 further number, known as the ‘PowerBall, from a pool of 1-26, or you can select the QuickPick option (Quick+1). Once you have chosen your numbers, select which draw you want to bet on, either Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday, and press ‘Submit’. This will take you through to a checkout – at this stage just click ‘Confirm and proceed’ to place your bet.

How do I win the Jackpot?

You will win our jackpot if your 5 main numbers and 1 PowerBall is the same as those in the official PowerBall draw.

Can I win all the same prizes betting on the draw with Lottoland?

Betting with us, you win the amount that you would have won if the official prize fund was shared between you and any official lottery winners.

How much does it cost?

A single bet costs £5.
Lottoland can at its own discretion decide to increase the price of the single line bet if the underlying lottery jackpot reaches US $1bn as shown in the table below:

Jackpot amount $ Jackpot amount £(approx) Price
Less than $1bn Less than £860m £5
Over $1.5bn Over £1.3bn £10

How much can I win?

The PowerBall jackpot starts at $20m (£16m) and increases by a minimum of $2m (£1.6m) between drawings. This jackpot is completely uncapped, creating the potential for huge payouts! You can also bet for twice the PowerBall jackpot by selecting the DoubleJackpot option. See below for information on how this feature works.

What is a Boosted Jackpot?

A Boosted Jackpot (or Special Jackpot) is an enhanced jackpot feature on selected lotto betting games. For a limited number of draws, we replace the standard jackpot with a much higher top prize. These jackpots are exclusive to Lottoland and are completely independent of any corresponding underlying draws.

How does the DoubleJackpot feature work?

The DoubleJackpot feature allows you to bet for twice the official lottery jackpot. So, for instance, if the official PowerBall Lotto draw is £6m and you bet on the outcome with us and activate the DoubleJackpot feature, you can potentially win £12m. The prizes for all other tiers will remain the same.

You will pay double the price of your normal line to activate the DoubleJackpot feature.

When does the draw take place?

The PowerBall draw takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night in Florida, USA at approximately 11pm, which equates to 4am on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in the UK.

What are the odds of winning the jackpot?

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. A breakdown of all the odds for each prize tier, together with estimated returns is included below.

What is the PowerPlay option?

The PowerPlay feature allows you to boost the potential winnings on all non-jackpot prize tiers. Should you win prize tier 2, your winnings will be doubled. If you win at any other non-jackpot prize tier your winnings will be either x2, x3, x4 or x5 depending on the PowerPlay ball that is drawn. If the jackpot is below $150m (£108m) an additional x10 PowerPlay ball is added. It costs £1 to activate the PowerPlay feature.

Can you explain the different prize tiers available?

When you bet on the outcome of the PowerBall, you win the amount that you would have won if the official prize fund was shared between you and any official lottery winners. The table below explains the different prize tiers, odds of winning each prize tier and the estimated individual returns for each prize tier. The information below is provided as a guide only. Should you win you will be paid out in pounds. The values shown are in pound sterling. Please bear in mind that the values shown are dependent on the euro to pound exchange rate.

Lottoland replicate the pay-out structure of the Official Lottery Draws in America and for this reason the total prize is reduced by 38% to make allowances for the tax Official winners in Tiers 1 to 3 would have to pay. Lottoland may pay out the Winnings in Prize Category 1 over 30 years (the “Annuity Option”). The lump sum method will be paid out at 60% of the total value of the annuity amount. The annuity method will be paid as one annual payment being made for the 30 year term. The level of payments are calculated such that the payments rise 4% from year to year until the full sum has been paid out.

Betting with us, you win the amount that you would have won if the official prize fund was shared between you and any official lottery winners.
